Have you ever stood at the edge of the unknown, unsure of your next step? The path ahead feels uncertain, the way forward blurry, and yet something inside nudges you to move. That something is faith. Faith is what carries us across the bridge between where we are now and the glory God has prepared. Every step, no matter how small, is a step closer to Him, and He is always there, guiding us, holding us, encouraging us to keep moving forward. Jesus is the bridge a symbol of that faith that connects us to the Kingdom. Every day, we step out in faith, crossing a little more of the bridge, drawing closer to the Almighty God. When we keep our eyes gazed on His glory and love over our lives, transition begins to feel safe.
“And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it… It shall be for those who walk in that way.” – Isaiah 35:8
Transitions require faith but faith with momentum. Moving from one season to the next, whether in relationships, purpose, or personal growth is rarely easy. The oppression, attacks, discouragement, chaos, and even the constant battle with depression are tactics meant to keep you and me stuck. Have you ever found your place in yearning for more, desiring the best version of who you know God made you to be, but somehow facing delay yet again and again?
Maybe you’ve transitioned in some areas, but you’re still pushing through others. That’s because a bridge isn’t something you can quickly cross. It takes time. It takes focus. It requires knowing the direction and maintaining momentum toward the destination.
“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” – Philippians 3:13
Our faith is continuously under tests, but in every test the Holy Spirit is guiding us into something new. God sees the end from the beginning. The bridge represents the movement from where we were to where He is leading us. It’s who we were to who He is shaping us to become. It’s the testimony of every transition God has already brought you through. When we move from seeing the bridge to walking across it in faith, we step toward victory.
But what happens when momentum feels inconsistent? How do we keep moving toward victory? How do we silence the doubt and discouragement and hold on to the hope of the Glory to come?
Recently, Holy Spirit gave me a simple word: “Don’t just run — but walk.”
At first, it felt confusing. Paul urges us to run the race with perseverance and reminds us not to grow weary in doing good. (Hebrews 12:1; Galatians 6:9) So why would God tell me to walk? But I began to understand that sustainable momentum isn’t built in how fast you go, instead, it’s built in consistent steps. Walking requires endurance. Walking requires intention. Walking means you’re still moving, even when you don’t feel strong enough to run. Running can burn you out. Walking in faith, steadily keeps you moving across the bridge step by step. Running gets us moving in the right direction. It gives us the push we often need to begin. It sets us forth into the very transition God has for us.
They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
It is the combination of faithfully running and steadily walking in Him that brings us to victory. Keep seeking the kingdom and fixing your eyes on the one who paid it all. Even when we feel too weak to run or unsure how to take the next step, in our weakness His strength gives us steady momentum. As Paul says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). The Lord walks alongside you every step of the way across that bridge. The authority of the most high is stronger than any challenge that tries to delay your purpose. What God has for you will not return to Him in void (Isaiah 55:11). This is a confidence we can hold on to, knowing God’s strength carries us through every transition. We can trust that every step in faith we take is never wasted. Every step in faith brings us closer to the best version of ourselves, a life that emulates God’s character.
So today, take the next step in faith, even if it’s a walk, not a run and trust God to carry you across the bridge in your life. When you reach the other side, you will be able to say, “I did it — all I needed was faith.”
Every step you take in faith is part of the race God has set before you. We fight the good fight (2 Timothy 4:7), walking faithfully, trusting Him to carry us across the bridge. And one day, we will hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this word and for this revelation. Thank You for carrying us through every battle and every challenge. Thank you for how far you already brought us. Lord, I pray that You slow us down when we are burning out in our run. Remind us that it is okay to walk. Remind us that in every step we take, that we move with You next to us. Remind us that we are not in a hurry, for You have laid out every step before us and that Your timing is perfect. May You bring us into stronger faith and greater confidence in each transition. Take our eyes off to what is around us and bring us back to the purpose of it all. Lord, in moments when we feel weary, help us grab Your hand even tighter and take another step forward. Thank You for the next transition You are bringing us into. I pray that we keep moving across that bridge and enter into victory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen!
